Wilbur "Big Boy" Ernest Lewis, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 28, 1927 in Horry County, a son of the late Everett Kenneth and Macie Marie Williams Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Martha Creola Miller Lewis; siblings, Willie Bernest Lewis, his twin, Haldeen Lewis, Lena Mae Lewis Doscher and Eda Earle Lewis Paul.
Wilbur was a Godly man, who loved going to church and witnessing to others. Wherever he went his Little Red Gideon Bible went with him. To know him was to love him, he was a kind, compassionate and hugging man. Wilbur taught all his children to play a musical instrument on a small guitar. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. He owned and operated Wilbur E. Lewis Masonry Contractor for forty years. He served in the US Army/Air Force.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Sara Jo Graham Lewis; children, Ernest Wayne Lewis (Dorothy), Roger Dale Lewis (fiancé, Terrie Mansfield), Wanda Ruth Lewis; step children, John Archie Bell (Joyce), Jimmy Dawson Bell (Rhonda), Michael Wayne Bell (Kim) and Lisa Renee Rowell; brother, Everette "Tommy" Lewis; grandchildren, Jay Lewis (Beverly), Jennifer Lewis Rabon (Brian), Nikki McFadden (Eli), Matt Burnett, Candice Singleton and Rodney Singleton, Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral Services will be held 2pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at The Refuge.
Burial will follow at Pauley Swamp Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family recommends you social distance and wear face mask.
