Obituary

Wayne "Catfish" Watts, 67, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at GSRMC, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Loris on November 24, 1957, a son of the late Weston Aubrey and Jeanette Mills Watts.

He was also predeceased by the mother who raised him, Thelma Skipper Watts.

Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, had a heart of gold and lived life to the fullest, but grew up hating steamed okra. No matter who he met, each and every one was treated the same. He loved watching NASCAR, wrestling and working on cars. Wayne was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He served in the US Air Force for several years.

Mr. Watts is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Joyce M. Turner Watts; children, Michael Wayne Watts (Jackie), Robert Burns Hensley (Lisa) and Steven Earl Hensley; his brother, Aubrey Watts (Karen); grandchildren, Lucas Watts, Kennedy Hensley and Michaiah Charles, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Funeral Service will be held 2pm Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
