Virgil Allen
Mason
Jan 8, 1970 — Aug 5, 2026
Conway
Virgil Allen Mason, 56, passed away at his residence. He was born January 8, 1970, in West Palm Beach, Florida, a son of Willie Virgil Mason and Addie Mae Case Mason.
Virgil was a one-of-a-kind man who could not be summed up by a list of hobbies or accomplishments. Virgil had a way of making life memorable. He could turn a fishing trip into an adventure, a trip in the woods into a search for Bigfoot, and an ordinary day into a story that would be told for years. He was a natural mechanic and a talented blacksmith, always working with his hands and finding a way to fix, build, or create something. He was the kind of man who taught his children not just by telling them how to do something, but by letting them get grease on their hands while working alongside of him. He had a wild imagination, a mischievous spirit, and a heart that was much bigger than he ever needed to say out loud.
He was a God-fearing man who loved deeply, lived boldly, and found joy in the simple things that made life worth living. If Virgil loved you, you knew it. But of all the things Virgil was passionate about, nothing meant more to him than being a father and a Papa.
Virgil also had an unmistakable love for his dogs, Butter and Yona, who were never simply pets, but part of the family he loved so dearly.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, Allen Mason, whose loss he carried with him.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Julianne F. Mason; his children and their spouses; Jonathan Michael Mason (Faith Dillard), Victoria Lynn Mason (David Lowery), Gabrielle McKenzie Mason (Michael Hedin), and Kacie Nicole Mason; his grandchildren, Blayden Lee Mason, Colson Thomas Mason, and Madalynn Lowery; his siblings, Jessie Case and Patty Russell; his beloved dogs, Butter and Yona; and many friends who were more like family, including Scottie Long, Eddie Martin, Audrey Lowther, Wanda Hucks, MadDog, and many others whose lives were touched by his friendship.
To those who knew Virgil, his absence will leave a space that cannot simply be filled. There will be no more stories told by him, no more crazy adventures, no more fixing what everyone else thought could not be fixed, and no more days spent wondering what might be waiting around the next bend in the river or somewhere deep in the woods.
But there will always be the memories.
He will be in the stories they tell, in the lessons he left behind, in the things they learned from him, in the grease on their hands, and in the memories made long before they knew those moments would one day become the ones they would treasure most.
Most of all, there will always be the love of a daddy and a Papa that does not end simply because he is no longer here.
His life was a gift. His memory is a treasure. And his love will remain forever.
No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor Virgil, share stories, laugh, cry, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who meant so much to so many.
