Vera Claire Lowrimore, 91, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Low Country Community Hospice House in Summerville. She was born August 12, 1935 in Hemingway SC, a daughter of the late Richard Chenault and Flossie Perry Chenault.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herman P. Lowrimore; her siblings, Joseph Chenault and Dorothy Tyler.

Vera was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. Vera always had a smile with passion and love for children. She babysat and took care of a lot of children in the Britton’s Neck Community. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending and serving her Lord and Savior. All the children at church just loved her. Vera enjoyed going to Britton's Neck Grocery, sitting around, talking and greeting everyone with a big smile that came by, to get a good meal.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia L. Butts and her husband, William; grandson, Holden Elliott; great grandson, Leo Elliott and many other family and friends who will miss her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
