Troy Arthur Hucks, 82, passed away on the early morning of Wednesday, September 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, our precious daddy was called to his Eternal Home. He was born December 4, 1943, in Conway, SC, the son of the late Frank Hucks and Eunice Edwards Hucks.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Lewis Hucks; followed by his second wife, Virginia Vereen Hucks, a brother, Billy Hucks, sisters, Juanita Thomas and Doris Miller; a son in law, Jeff Jennings.

Troy was a loving and devoted husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend.He loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends, and making people laugh with his sense of humor and most of all, his love for Jesus Christ. Daddy had many friends and family who loved him dearly, each touched by his warmth, his unwavering grit, and his gentle strength.To know him was to see a living reflection of faith in action—he answered the call and ordained as a preacher, where he loved sharing the gospel with a great desire to help lead others to our Lord Jesus Christ, a man who stood firm through life's tides and loved his family with everything he had. Dad proudly served and loved with his whole heart being a soldier in the US Army, which was a childhood dream and that was fulfilled at the age of 17, where his father went with him to sign him up to join his dream and vision. Dad proudly served with the 1st Calvary Division and promoted in Rank as a First Class Officer, Drill Sergeant.He proudly served in the Vietnam War, and upon serving two tours that began March 24th, 1961 to March 23rd,1964. His 2nd tour was among the Republic of Vietnam April 18th, 1968- April 10th, 1969. And counting his 2nd tour of service from May 12th, 1967 to May 11th, 1970. Dad was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart and including the Recipient of the Veteran MAGRHO Guardian Angels blanket among many other medals and awards.

May we honor him today for who he was on earth, and for who he is now in the presence of our Father God, who stands whole, joyful, and walking hand-in-hand with our mom and many other loved ones, on those eternal shorelines. ✨ To everyone who has reached out, sent a message, or held space for our family; your love has provided a true safe place to land. May we now be brave as we celebrate him home.

Let us honor our daddy in the best way possible—by living out the legacy of faith, devotion, and unconditional love that he left behind for each of us.

Mr. Hucks is survived by his daughter, Symanthia Hucks Jennings; a son, Shane Arthur Hucks and his wife Misty, a sister, Mary Edna Cooper; grandchildren; Hayden Jennings Fogle (Austin), Jensen Jennings, Kassie Strickland, Matthew Harrelson and his wife Lacey; great grandchildren; Lucy Fogle, Ryleigh Strickland, Gunter Strickland, Ryder Strickland, Russell Strickland, Garren Strickland, Noah Harrelson, Kase Harrelson and Kash Harrelson; Very Special Friends, Dewayne Washum and Matt Crump, Owner of: Veteran Coaching Alliance. He has many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be1:00 pm, followed by Funeral Services that will be held at 2pm Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Darrell Langston officiating and another special friend.

Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens Military Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
