Sylvia Jean Chavis, 79, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1944 in Conway, a daughter of the late Benard Smart and Laura Johnson Smart.

Sylvia enjoyed making friends and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her brother, James Smart.

Mrs. Chavis is survived by her sons, Marc Chavis and Michael Chavis; daughters, Kimberly Chavis and Jennifer Benton (Jason); brother, Charles Smart; sister, Margie Johnston (Douglas); three grandchildren, Courtney Chavis, Eli Benton and Scarlett Benton; nieces, Jeannie Hampton (Lloyd), Melissa Lichty (Emily); nephew, John Johnston, many other family and friends who will miss her.
