Smiley William "SW" Richardson, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at McLeod Seacoast surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 30, 1937 in Britton's Neck, a son of the late Paul M. Richardson Sr. and Ruth Singleton Richardson.
He was also predeceased by his son, Chip J. Richardson; siblings, Helen R. Rogers, Paul Richardson Jr. and Gilbert Richardson; brother-in-law, Harry Baker and sister-in-law, Elaine Altman Richardson.
SW was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A lifelong member of Nebo Baptist Church, he served as deacon for many years. For twenty-five years he was in the hotel industry with SM Johnston Properties. He enjoyed building, farming and was a tobacco buyer for Imperial Tobacco Company.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Phyllis Williams Richardson of sixty years; children, Mark W. Richardson (Kelly), Pamela R. Carlisle (Tim) and Brice R. Richardson (Jamie); sisters, Mary Baker and Lunette "Lucy" Cox (Larry); sister-in-law, Julia Rowell Richardson; brother-in-law, Carol Rogers; grandchildren, Emily Richardson, Lindsey Fellers (Michael), Will Richardson, Blake Richardson, Lauren Jacobs (Timmy), Kayla Carlisle and Rhett Richardson; great grandchildren, Hadlee Fellers, Callen Fellers and Liam Fellers, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.
A Graveside Service will be held 3pm Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Black and Rev. Ken Herrington officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Tracy "Red" Grice, Donna Horton and Holly Massey for all their love and care they provided to the family.
