Shirley J. Thomas, 79, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Carolina Gardens. She was born February 7, 1942 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Blease and Maggie Cooper Jordan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Alexander Thomas, Jr.; daughters, Joy Thomas and Cindy Jo Canady; grandson, Dylan Setzer and siblings, Tom B. Jordan, Myrtle Squires and Dottie Hughes.

Shirley was an avid gardener and seamstress. She loved planting her garden and working with her flowers.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her siblings, Lloyd Jordan (Sue), Fleetwood King and Gail Hancock; granddaughter, Hallie Jordan Gilmore and many other family and friends who will miss her.

A Graveside Service will be held 1pm Monday, November 22, 2021 at Oakey Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery with Bobby Fowler officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
