Sharon S. Johnson, affectionately known as "Twiggy," passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her family at her home in Conway, SC, as she was carried into the arms of Jesus. Born on November 29, 1946, in Chatham County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Albert Otto Shipes and Frances Jane Mims Shipes. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Dick Calhoun Johnson.

Sharon dedicated 33 years of her life to the Horry County School District, where she made a significant impact on many lives. She was a cherished member of the Conway chapter of the Eastern Star. Sharon found joy in camping, fishing, and mountain vacations, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Known as "Grandma" to many, she was a source of prayer and encouragement to her grandchildren and their friends.

She is survived by her sons, Dickie Johnson (Kim) and Dale Johnson (Wendy); her grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Kamron Johnson (McKenzie), and Dalen Johnson (Anna); her great-grandchildren, Asher Johnson and Beckham Lindsey; her brother, Rusty Shipes; and her sisters, Deborah Cummings (Jerry) and Pamela Adams, along with many other family members and friends.

The family extends their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice for their care over the past year. Sharon will be deeply missed as a mother, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
