Ronald “Ron” Scott Johnson, 76, passed away September 1, 2026 at Conway Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1949 in Florence SC, a son of Emmie Dale Cumbie Johnson and the late James Wilnia “Bill” Johnson.

Ron worked 34 years in engineering and construction with B.E. & K. of Birmingham, AL and then another 12 years with Lauren Engineers & Constructors of Abilene, Tx. Ron retired in 2018 and returned to his home state of SC.

He was also predeceased by his brother, Danny Ray Johnson.

Ron is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Bobbie Helen Herlong Johnson; three daughters, Tara Johnson Thigpen (Rick), Aimee E. Rountree and Ashleigh K. Johnson; three grandchildren, Hunter Collum, Cody Collum and Kyle Rountree and many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
