Robert Elvis "Bunkey" Simmons, 65, passed away Monday July 8, 2024 at Conway Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1959 in Conway, S.C. a son of the late Evelyn Mincey Simmons and Clinton Wildon Simmons.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Delores Simmons; his special aunt & mom, Alice Mincey; special nephew, Bruce Locklear and his uncle, Johnny "Hoppy" Simmons.

He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years.

Bunkey enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends, but he especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his sons,  Robert Simmons Jr. and Stephen Snyder (Jeffrey); his daughters, Misty Nicole Jeffords (Chris),  Brittany Lynn Brant (Tyler), and Nicole Natal (Ivan); three brothers, James "Tiny Buddy" Simmons, Steve Oliver Simmons Sr., and Thomas Leroy Simmons; his sisters, Elouise King, Rosa Lee Locklear, and Cynthia Alford (Carey); grandchildren, Jackson, Kalie, Madison, Danil, Kaiden, Noctis, Emma, KJ, Victoria and Noah; two great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 12, 2024 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
