Obituary

Randall Lee Thompson, 74, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born December 11, 1951 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Winston Lee and Virginia Bellamy Thompson.

Hoggy was a member of Waccamaw Family Worship Church. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed cooking chicken bog for his family and friends, spending time with family and always willing to help others. To know him was to love him, with his huge heart he was always making people laugh. A mechanic at heart, he loved working on cars. Most of all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Brenda Rider Thompson; son, Troy R. Thompson (Starr); siblings, Cindy Grisolano (John) and Judy Hayden; grandchildren, Thomas Dawson IV, Lake Alford and Lillian Thompson; great grandchild, Thomas Dawson V and many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Waccamaw Family Worship Church, 508 Hwy 90, Conway, SC 29526, with Rev. Dennis Lewis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1314 3rd Ave, Conway, SC 29526.
