Oscar Ronald “Ron” Teague, of Conway, South Carolina, went to be with Jesus on September 1, 2026 at his home at the age of 90.
Ron was born April 26, 1936, in Belmont, North Carolina. He later made his way to Conway, South Carolina, which he called home for more than half a century.
In 1989, Ron met the love of his life, Lori Ann Elmore. From the beginning, they shared a special connection and began building a beautiful life together. They married on October 25, 2003, and shared more than 37 years of deep love and companionship.
Ron attended and was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church. His faith became an important part of his life and remained a source of strength throughout his years.
A hard worker with an independent spirit, Ron began delivering newspapers on his bike at an early age. His determination and eye for opportunity eventually led him into business for himself, where he owned and operated tire businesses in the Myrtle Beach and Conway areas. He was never afraid to follow his own path, and his entrepreneurial spirit was an important part of who he was.
Yet Ron’s life was about much more than his work. Those who knew him knew there was no one quite like him. He loved singing, making people laugh, spending time with his animals, and welcoming everyone he met. He never seemed to meet a stranger and had a gift for making people feel at ease. Above all, however, Ron’s favorite place to be was wherever Lori was. His devotion to her was evident in the life they shared and in the love that bound them together.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Janson Teague and Vernice Lawing Teague; his brother, Danny Teague; his sister, Judith “Judie” Teague Busby; and his brother-in-law, Carl A. Busby, Jr.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Lori Ann Elmore Teague; his sister-in-law, Linda Teague; his brother-in-law, Mark Elmore and his wife, Kathy; his nieces and nephews, Natalie Wiggins, Andrea Teague Burris (Andy), Brian Teague (Allison), David Teague (Katie), Lisa Busby Tilson (Jeffrey), Todd Busby, Kristin Busby Souffrant (Brad), and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ava Kathryn Burris, Arden Olivia Burris, Callie Elizabeth Teague, Daniel Wesley Teague, Molly Teague Mogusu (Enoch), Julia Noelle Teague, Lanie Mae Teague, Chloe Danielle Teague, Travis Jay Murphy, Haley Rae Tilson, Kelsey Nicole Souffrant (Kayla), and Tessa Souffrant Huckabee (Ansel). He also leaves behind three great-great-nephews, Aiden Murphy, Gavin Murphy, and Rowan Souffrant.
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially by Lori, whose life he shared and whose heart he held so dearly.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Heartland Hospice for the kindness and compassionate care shown to Ron, and especially for the incredible support they have given Lori throughout his final days. Their care, guidance, and presence during such a difficult time have meant more to our family than we could ever adequately express.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13
