Milne Lee Sutherland, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at his residence with his loving wife by his side. Born January 22, 1940 in Baltimore Maryland, he was the son of William Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Gaigley Sutherland.

Mr. Sutherland was a very knowledgeable and skilled Civil Engineer and was owner of Development Consultants Group. He was very active in pursuing his passions, serving on many boards and committees including, President of the Board of Directors of FONZ (Friends of the National Zoo), Board of Ivy Mount school, Make a Wish Foundation, Board of Rebuilding Together, active with the Smithsonian, and Sugarloaf Car club. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone he met. He had a love for American History, military history, cooking, animals and photography.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Sutherland Hesterberg, Mary Elizabeth Margaret Sutherland Russell, William A. "Bud" Sutherland, and Douglas "Suds" Sutherland.

Mr. Sutherland is survived by his wife of 46 Years, Jannine Smith Sutherland; daughters Karen Lee Sutherland (Ira Elliott), Tracey Beth Celi (Scott); grandchildren, Chase Hixson (Melissa), Sarah Collins (Tim), Collin Hixson, Tyler Elliot, Alexandra Celi, Rachel Celi, and Megan Celi; greatgrandchildren, Morrigan Hixson, Otto Hixson, and Toby Hixson along with many other family and friends who will miss him greatly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
