Mildred Gunter Williams, 86, of Conway, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.

Born in Harnett County, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Gladys Chabotte. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Kenneth Gunter (1986) and Henry Max Williams (2004), and her sister, Joyce Chabotte Atkinson (2015).

Mildred enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Randle (Jerry); her son, James “Buster” Gunter (Sheila); her grandchildren, Donnie (Dan), Kelly (Kevin), Kayce (Aaron), Travis (Erika), and Jonathan (Chandler); and her great-grandchildren, Arianna, Fiona, Sadie, Maci, Callie, and Brylie.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Juniper Bay Baptist Church in Conway, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Charleston, South Carolina, in Mildred’s memory, in honor of her overwhelming love for children. (www.rmhcharleston.org/ways-to-give)
