Mary Hilda Grimm, 85, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Walter Reed Hospital with her loving daughters by her side.
She was born in Conway, SC; daughter of the late Rev. Eddie Bright and Myrtle Barnhill Hyman. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Allen Grimm; daughter, Wonza Juanita Philpott, brothers: John Henry Hyman; Rev. Eddie E. Hyman; Rev. J.W. Hyman; Larry O. Hyman; sisters: Cecil A. Hyman Todd; Sarah P. Davis; Wilma Doris Hyman Lewis; Maggie L Hyman Aust and Loraine Hyman Childers Cox.
Hilda had a tender heart and a deep love for her family. She loved cooking, baking, sewing and making dolls. She will be forever missed.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters: Laura Kathryn Jerue, Shonzie Lynn Walton and Suzette Danielle Grimm; sister, Bobbie Hyman Barnhill and brother, Rev. Paul Hyman; grandchildren: Roy J. Bryant, Amanda M. Bryant, Nicholas R. Bryant, James D. Bryant, Eddie J. Bilton, Tammy J. Bilton, Spencer A. Boros, Riley A. Boros, Keegan A. Boros, Lyle S. Walton and Rhonda L Williams, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. Stephen Hyman officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Hilda's memory to: St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
