Mary Frances Fipps Smith, 78, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at Oak View Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 6, 1945, in Tabor City N.C., a daughter of the late Leroy McLamb and Dessie Leora McLamb.

Mrs. Smith she was predeceased by her siblings, Alfred Spivey, Marshall McLamb, Dale Spivey, Earlene Harrelson, and Earl Fowler

To everyone who loved her, she was a wonderful Mama, Me Maw, Nana, Sister, Aunt Frances and Grams. She was a kind hearted loving friend to all, but above all else she loved her Lord. Mary loved to Praise and sing for God. She enjoyed taking care of the sick, reading, taking care of her flowers and loved her furbabies and chickens.

Ms. Smith is survived by three sons, Wade Gerald Merritt (Tanya), Gene Merritt,

and David Earl Merritt (Cindy); three daughters, Vivistine Goude (Frankie), Lissa Baxley (Edward) and Tammy Lynn Smith; a brother, Roy McLamb; two sisters, Sue McLamb Norton and Libby McLamb; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss her.

A Graveside Service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Westside Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00pm until 1:45pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Oak View for loving and caring for Mrs. Mary during her time there.
