Margaret Glenys Hovermale, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born May 20, 1940 in Georgetown, she was the daughter of Roy Leon Shoupe and Geneva Dennis Shoupe.

In addition to her husband, Emery Junior Hovermale, she was also predeceased by her sons, Leslie Dean Hovermale, Bryon M. Hovermale and Phillip Darrell Hovermale.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved very much. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She was a member of Forest Brook Baptist Church and was very active in church events. She loved spending time with her family especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Margaret is survived by her son, Allen Hovermale (Terri); daughter-in-law, Cathy Hovermale; sister, Patricia Ann Gesula (Ted); grandchildren, Audrey Hovermale, Matthew Hovermale, and Christopher Hovermale (Sesili); great grandchildren, Kaden, Harper, Wyatt and Laycie; nieces and nephews; Kelly Gardner (Charles), Glenn Carter (Eileen), Barry Carter (Karen) and Greg Carter and many other family and friends who will miss her.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 23, 2026 at Forest Brook Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be 11:00am Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
