Lonnie Joe Chestnut, 79, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born January 2, 1946 in Conway, he was the son of the late Duke Davis Chestnut and Virgie Lee Long Chestnut.

He was also predeceased by his siblings, Eunice Hardee and David B. Chestnut.

Lonnie was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Never meeting a stranger, Lonnie brought love, joy and laughter to everyone in his presence.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and always ready to cook for them. Lonnie was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Chestnut is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Dorothy Strickland Chestnut; children, Brian M. Chestnut (Candy) and Joseph T. Chestnut (Alissa); siblings, Rev. Roger Chestnut (Sonya) and Nell Anderson (Kenny); grandchildren, Tanner W. Chestnut, Zachary T. Chestnut, Christian T. Chestnut and Grayson N. Chestnut, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Chestnut officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.
