Linda Lee Sutton, 79, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Conway Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

Born on September 6, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Linda moved with her family to Orlando, Florida, at the age of 15, where she met the love of her life, Charles "Dave" Sutton. The couple shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Shortly after they were married, Linda and Charles made their home in Riverdale, Maryland, where they raised their family and lived until retiring in 2010. They then relocated to Conway, South Carolina, to enjoy their retirement together.

Linda found joy in spending time with family and friends, especially while playing card games and creating crafts. She cherished the many friendships she formed during her retirement at the Carolina Forest Senior Center, where she spent countless happy days.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mary Dowdy Hamon; her brothers, Raymond, Phillip, and Jack Hamon; her sister, Carol Rice; and her daughter-in-law, Joanne Sutton.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Charles "Dave" Sutton; her sons, Charles Sutton (Rebecca) and David Sutton; her daughter, Cheryl Sutton; her brother, Samuel Hamon (Jean); her sisters, Grace Van Buren (Ronnie), Rita Hammonds (Mike), and Pam Bailey (Daryl); her grandchildren, Phillip Sutton (Marli) and Daniel Sutton (Emma); her great-grandchildren, Maeve, Samuel, and Neill; and many long-time family friends.

Linda was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, Zoe and Allen, later this year.
