Leonard Wayne Barker, 79 passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1944 in St. Charles, VA, a son of the late David H. and Gaynell Penley Barker.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Penley.

Leonard served in the US Army for twenty-two years. He was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather and friend, who loved spending time with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed, fishing, camping, fiddling with his hands and building things, always determined that nothing would get the best of him.

Mr. Barker is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Sherry Anne Pullen Barker; children, Daniel "Danny" Wayne Barker (Shirley) and Granville Edward Barker; grandchildren, Kayla Anne Barker, Daniel Cornell, Tara Renee Barker and Jason Wayne Barker; great grandchildren, Braeson Prichett and Madison Best, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in a National Cemetery.
