Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Lawson, 65, entered into his eternal rest Monday, August 17, 2026. He was born October 17, 1960, in Mullins, South Carolina, son of the late Paul Eugene Lawson and Virginia Edwards Lawson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Robin Lawson.
Kenny was a man of many talents. He was a licensed hair stylist, specializing in hair replacement, he was a dedicated employee of AVX in the maintenance and set up department before concluding the working chapter of his life with Kingston Plantation as a maintenance engineer. Although Kenny faced many battles he embraced the beauty of each day. He was full of life and his infectious laugh and quick wit would keep his family on their toes. His love for traveling, especially camping, was only superseded by his love for fine dining which included fried bologna sandwiches. Kenny could tell you where every hotdog stand, diner and dive was located along the eastern seaboard. The thing he loved the most were the people in his life, especially his family.
Kenny is survived by his soulmate of 29 years, Scott Johnson; sisters, Paula Lawson (Willie) and Amy Grainger (Chris), His cherished Nieces and nephews, Hunter Dorman (Taylor), Grayden Martin (Nicole), Lacey Gasque (Coty), Brandy Strickland (Cody), Brandon Grainger (Karlyna); Great Nieces and Nephews, Keigan, Ella-Kate, Grayson, Rynlee, Lawson, Brooks, Reid, Riley, Kinley, Dean, Hunter, and many other friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2026 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel, with Rev Chris Grainger officiating.
The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
