Kenneth Paul “Kenny Paul” Hucks, 68, of Britton’s Neck, was a husband, daddy, Papa Paul, brother, and friend—but to the people who loved him most, he was so much more than any title could ever say.
Kenneth was the son of the late Cleo and Letha Hucks. He was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Glenn Hucks. He leaves behind the love of his life, Tracy Stroud Hucks, his wife of 47 years, who shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, struggles, dreams, and love with him. She was his home, and together they built a family that became his greatest treasure.
Kenneth loved the outdoors and enjoyed the simple things in life. He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand, out in the woods hunting, putting out corn for deer, or simply spending a beautiful day outside. Hunting and fishing were more than hobbies to him—they were a part of who he was and a way he made memories with the people he loved. The outdoors brought him peace, purpose, and plenty of stories to tell. For those who knew him best, there will always be a piece of Kenny Paul in the woods, on the water, and in those quiet moments spent outside enjoying God’s creation.
His greatest pride was being a daddy to his two girls, Devian Johnson (Craig) of Conway and Keely Winkeler (Matt) of Marion. To his daughters, he was not simply their father—he was their protector, their safe place, their strength, and one of the biggest pieces of their hearts.
KP was the kind of man his girls could call when they needed anything. He loved them fiercely, worried about them constantly, and would have moved mountains for them. No matter how old his girls became, they would always be his girls.
And then came his four grandchildren—Anna Marie, Ava Mae, Lillie Mattison, and Lain Thomas—and they truly became the center of his world.
Being Papa Paul was one of the greatest joys of his life. His grandchildren could make him smile in a way nothing else could. He loved watching them grow, spending time with them, hearing about their lives, and simply being their Papa Paul. They will grow up knowing that they were deeply, completely, and unconditionally loved by him. They will carry his love with them for the rest of their lives—in the stories they tell, the memories they share, and all the little things that will remind them of him.
Kenneth is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Ann Richardson and Mary Francis Todd, and his beloved godson, Jason Watson of Britton’s Neck, along with many other nieces, nephews, hunting buddies, and friends whose lives were touched by him. Among those friends were Keith Hucks and Joe Watson, two very special men who were far more than friends. Through years of hunting, fishing, laughter, good times, hard times, and countless memories, they shared a bond that went far beyond friendship. They were the kind of friends who stood beside each other through life, and Kenny Paul felt blessed because of that. The memories they made together will forever be a part of his legacy.
Craig Johnson and Jamie Montgomery, two very special people to Kenneth, will assist in honoring him during his services.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Watson Funeral Services, with Craig Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm at the funeral home.
Burial to follow at Old Neck Cemetery.
