Rev. Joseph Benjamin "Buster" Benton III, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1952 in Conway, a son of the late Joseph B. Benton Jr. and Marthia V. Brown Benton.

Mr. Benton was also predeceased by his sisters, Doris Benton, Miriam Whittaker and Judith Carol Benton and nieces, Barbara Ann Whittaker and Chelsea Altman; fur baby, Yogi.

Buster was a loving brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met. Buster pastored many churches over the years, but ended his ministry at Gurley Baptist Church, when he went on to be with his Lord and Savior. A people person, he loved preaching God's Word and witnessing to others. Beaverdam FWB Church was his home church. He retired from Bi-Lo Grocery Store's after twenty-nine years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Benton is survived by his siblings, John Alan "Buddy" Benton (Linda) and Mary B. Altman; nieces and nephews, Del Altman (Twyla), Marla Altman, Dawn Ellis (Lee), Michael Benton (Sherry), Sharon Benton (Jami), Stephen Benton, Merissa Waddey (Jason) and Stephen Whittaker (Andrea); many great and grand nieces and nephews along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Graveside Service will be held 3PM Monday, February 20, 2023 at Mt. Ariel FWB Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Seay and Rev. Mack Hudson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12pm until 2pm at Watson Funeral Services on Monday, February 20, 2023 prior to the service.
