John William
Robinson
Apr 3, 1954 — Jun 15, 2026
John William Robinson, 72, of Conway, South Carolina entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 15, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 3, 1954, in Conway, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy Marlowe Robinson. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, JoAnn K. Robinson; his father-in-law, Scarborough King; his mother-in-law, Eloise Lewis King; his brother-in-law, Danny Cook, his sister, Ernestine Beverly; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Norwood and Tammy Singleton, Annette and Russell Harris, Lisa and Shannon Fullwood, and Mary and Bob Cody. He is also survived by his brothers, Davie and Mindy Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Wayne and Jean Robinson; and his sisters, Alice and Wilson Lawrimore and Helen Alford, all of Horry County. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laverne and Rosita King, Danny and Teresa King, Carolyn Cooke, and Angela King, all of Horry County; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Known affectionately as “Papa Will” to his family.
William was a true craftsman in every sense of the word. If something needed building, fixing, or figuring out, he was the man for the job. With little more than determination, skill, and his bare hands, he built and repaired countless things throughout his lifetime. From homes and churches to special projects for family and friends, his work reflected both his talent and generous spirit. Though his earthly work is complete, the legacy he built through hard work, faith, love, and service to others will endure for generations.
Papa could often be found where he was happiest—on the river. An avid fisherman, he cherished the quiet mornings and the peace that only a day spent fishing could bring. His pretty white hair and his warm smile could light up a room. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their visits were the highlight of his days, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others how much he loved them. His memories he created with them will be treasured forever.
We are deeply grateful to nurse Lee Ann and the incredible caregivers for the gentle guidance, dignity, and love they extended to William and our family.
While we as a family grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him, and resting in the presence of the Savior he faithfully loved. His life was a testament to hard work, humility, faith, and unconditional love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
