John "Jack" N. Fenton, 74, passed away Wednesday, April 19 th , 2023 at his Residence. He was born October 9 th, 1948 in Queens, New York, son of the late John M. and Marion Nilsen Fenton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce French. Mr. Fenton is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. Fenton; son, William Fenton
(Tammy) and their children, Laycee and Parker; daughter, Danielle Fenton Rayno and her children Ty and Kylie; stepson Joseph P. Karnath (Kristin) and their children, Audrey and Julia; siblings Marj Olds and Roberta Spaulding, along with several
nieces and nephews who knew him as "Uncle Bucky". Jack grew up in Potsdam, New York where he graduated from Potsdam High School and Clarkson University, majoring in structural engineering. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army from 1967 until 1970. He then went on to work as Operational and Facilities Director with the South Glens Falls school system.
After retiring in 2005 he moved to Conway, South Carolina where he worked as the Maintenance Director at The Myrtle Beach State Park. One of his favorite perks to the job was drinking a cup of coffee on the pier while watching the sun rise.
He was an avid golfer for many years and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his fellow brothers and sisters. He loved tinkering on old cars and you could always find an antique or classic car in
the driveway. Hunting was another hobby of his and he enjoyed spending time at his Hunting Camp "Camp Serenity". Laycee frequently hunted with her Poppy. Jack relished being in the woods surrounded by the peace and quiet of mother nature.
Poppy also liked to cheer on his grandchildren in their sports activities and attended many of their games. He traveled frequently to watch Parker play baseball. As well as Ty and Kylie to watch them play soccer. While he didn't get to visit his
granddaughters Audrey and Julia up north too much, they held a special place in his heart. For years his Wednesday afternoons were devoted to playing poker with his buddies. He always took a stand for what he believed in, lending a helping hand to those around him. He was a devoted husband, father and
grandfather. He was one of the founding members of the Shepard's Table in Conway. On Monday's you could always find him cooking lunch at the Little River Elks Lodge.
He was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Conway.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, April 29 th , 2023 at St. Anne's Episcopal Church.
Following the Celebration, Jack will partake in one Final Motorcycle Ride with his fellow Brothers, Sister and Loved Ones. "Kickstands Up" at
5:00pm, departing from St. Anne's Episcopal Church to Captain Archie's in North Myrtle Beach.
