John Michael Matney, 79, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at Tidelands Rehabilitation. He was born August 27, 2026 in Marion, Indiana a son of the late Paul Matney and Mary Stair Matney.

John was a loving dad and grandad. He enjoyed ocean fishing, reading his Bible and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Smith (Steven) and Melanie Richardson; six grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Miles Smith, Brandon Richardson, Ashton Richardson, Gavin Richardson and Cadence Richardson and many other family and friends who will miss him.
