Joan Harriet Monroe, 89, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 at GSRMC. Born February 2, 1936 in Fredericksburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Marmaduke Dent and Christine Courtney Monroe.

She was also predeceased by her siblings, Betty Zelloe and Melvin Monroe, also a granddaughter, Angela Lynn Harper.

Joan was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed bowling, shopping and gardening. Ms. Monroe is survived by her children, Joseph C. Harper (Debbie) and Tina Beverly (Ritchie); grandchildren, Jordy Lee (Heather) and Cecilia Beverly; great grandchildren, Jackson Lee, Cat Rose Lee and Judson Lee, along with many other family and friends who will miss her.
