James Douglas Porter, 55, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home. He was born July 2, 1968 in Myrtle Beach, SC, a son of Maxine Sutton Porter Stanley and the late James Martin Porter.

Doug was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching a good football game, riding mountain bikes and playing tennis.

Mr. Porter is survived by his mother Maxine Sutton Porter Stanley (Danny); brother, Martin Brandon Porter (Holly Doyle Porter); nieces, Madolyn Faith Porter and Morgan Claire Porter; and many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, January 5, 2024 at Watson Funeral Servies Chapel with the Rev. Allan Goodman and J.C. Gasque officiating.

Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 1:45pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
