James Alex Holden, 74, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 11, 1949 in Horry County, a son of the late Johnny B. and Anna Louise Hardwick Holden.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Holden and brothers, Johnny Holden and Robert Holden.

James was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved working, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Holden is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Carrie E. Cook Holden; son, Leroy Holden (Nancy); siblings, Sammy Holden (Debbie), Ronnie Holden (Nancy), Mitchell Holden, David Holden and Peggy Taylor (Robert); grandchildren, Trystan Holden, Skylar Wheeler and Jaxson Wheeler; great grandchild, Barrett Alex Holden; special nephew, Charles Taylor (Cheri), along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Service will be held 2pm Monday, July 22, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Kinlaw officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
