Jim was born in Hanover, NH to William and Irene Doyle of West Fairlee VT. He attended West Fairlee grade school and Thetford Academy, Thetford Hill, VT and graduated in June 1958. At Thetford Academy in 1956 he met Marcia Bradley and she became his High School Sweetheart. They were married on August 22, 1958.
They have four daughters, Donna, Laurie, Carol and Mary.
Jim passed away at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC on January 6, 2024.
Jim loved hunting, fishing, golf and trapping. He was a caddy at Fairlee Golf Course, worked for First National Stores for 23 years in Fairlee, VT, also Wells River, VT, Littleton NH, Ludlow VT, Rutland VT, South Burlington VT as the manager. He worked with his brother Dave in the store business for a while. In 1984, Jim, Marcia and daughter Carol moved to Port Orange, Florida. Jim worked for Merita Bread for 20 years. After retiring they moved to Inman, SC and then to Conway, SC in 2015.
Jim is survived by his wife Marcia of 65 years, daughters, Donna Barger (Rick), Laurie McCaffrey (Jack), Carol Pollard (Brant) and Mary Pierson (Chad); brothers, Larry (Sheri), Russell (Melanie); sister, Joan Van Norden (Marshall); brother in laws, Howard Bradley and Melvin Holland; sister in law, Corinne Doyle and Melody Martin; grandsons, Joshua Knapp, Matthew Nutting (Jodi), Kyle Davis, Gavin Wood (Kiersten); granddaughters, Tabitha Fuentes (Sebastian), Shaina Williams (Tyler); twelve great grandchildren; his kitties, Winston and Luke.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Sandra; grandparents, father, mother, mother-in law, sister, Patricia Holland; brother, David Doyle and brother-in-law, Ransom Bradley.
There is no service, due to everyone being so far apart. We will have an immediate family celebration of life at a later time.
