Heyward "Matthew" Lowrimore Boynton, 41, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 19, 1983, in Conway, SC, Matthew was the cherished son of Heyward Melvin Lowrimore and Jean Wood Hearl Lowrimore.
Matthew was a kind, compassionate, and vibrant soul who never met a stranger. His warmth, generosity, and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in traveling and exploring the beauty of the world. Above all, Matthew's heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted spouse, a loving son and brother, a proud father and grandfather, and a true friend to many. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and his love for them was boundless.
Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Heyward B. and Thelma I. Lowrimore, and his maternal grandfather, Samuel Elwood Hearl.
He is survived by his beloved spouse of 12 years, Brian S. Boynton; his children, Adrien Hunter Burgess, Kyle Boynton (Eliza Dostie), Brandyn Boynton (Miranda), and Krystal Boynton Clark (Robert); his sister, Jennifer Lowrimore Kimbrell (Patrick); his grandchildren, Kellan Clark and Xander Ky Boynton; his maternal grandmother, Daisy Hearl; his nephews, Mason Turbeville and Coleman Kimbrell; and numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Services on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A graveside service to honor and celebrate Matthew's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Old Neck Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Kory Johnson and Rev. Wayne Parker.
Matthew's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
