Hermie Roosevelt Bennett, 89, passed away, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Grand Strand Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1936, in West Virginia, a son of the late Cecil Bennett and Ada Plumbley Bennett.

He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Carol Bennett; a son, Roger Bennett; siblings, Alma Kesler, Mabel Bragg, Ed Bennett, T.O. Bennett, Darrell Bennett, Carlos Bennett, Kermit Bennett, Ernest Bennett and Harold Bennett; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Nancy Plumbley and paternal, Marion and Mary Bennett.

Hermie was a member of Free Welcome Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing carpentry work. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his four children, Jeff Bennett (Heather) of Myrtle Beach, Ricky Bennett of NC, Randy Bennett of NC and Lisa Newton of NC; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six step- grandchildren; special friend, Gloria Todd and other family and friends who will miss him.

A Graveside Service will be held 1pm Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Hillcrest Mausoleum.

Family will receive friends after the service at the mausoleum.
