Helen Marie Tatarsky, 82, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chester, PA, Helen was the daughter of Alexander John and Marie Duffy Tatarsky. She earned her undergraduate degree from Trenton State College and a Master of Science in Special Education from Barry College. A teacher in the public school system in New Jersey, Florida and South Carolina for forty-one years, Helen was named Teacher of the Year at Pee Dee Elementary in 1991-92 and again in 1999-2000.

Helen's generous spirit and commitment to service was evidenced by her active involvement at St. James Catholic Church in Conway, where she served as President of the Ladies Guild in 1991-92 and as a children's catechist. She also participated in the church's mission work in Honduras and in other service ministries. Other interests and passions were visiting family, traveling here and abroad, crafting, and caring for her beloved dogs.

Miss Tatarsky is survived by her siblings John (Mary) of Sequim, WA; Kathleen Rivers, of Roswell, GA; and Carole Ring (Arthur), of Royal Palm Beach, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear, long-time friends James and Shirley Currie, of Conway, SC.

A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 12th at 11AM at St. James Catholic Church, 1071 Academy Drive, Conway, SC 29526.
