Gary A. Singleton, age, 67, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Gary was born on June 27, 1958, to the late Arthur E. "Gene" and Mary Frances Cooper Singleton.
Although, Gary was born with cerebral palsy, his mother was determined for him to succeed in life. Gary faced life with unwavering courage, quiet determination, and a resilient spirit, that inspired others. Despite the challenges, he encountered from an early age, Gary lived a life filled with purpose and accomplishments. He graduated from Conway High School, being the first to ever graduate in a wheelchair, from Horry County Public Schools. He earned an Associate's Degree, in Criminal Justice from Horry Georgetown Tech and had a dedicated career at Conway National Bank, where he worked in the mail room for an incredible 40 years. Gary's work ethic, reliability, and perseverance left a lasting impression on his colleagues, family and friends.
Gary is predeceased by his parents, AE "Gene" Singleton and Mary Frances Cooper Singleton, as well as his sister, Billie Rose Jordan and his brothers, Carlton Singleton and Larry Singleton.
Gary is survived by his sisters, Joyce Jones, Diane Singleton, Shirley Cooper (Mack) and Annette Sessions; brothers, Freddie Sessions (Linda) and James Sessions (Tammy) along with many special nieces, nephews; Dawn Evans, his sweetheart, who brought him joy and made his life a little sweeter for the last 8 years, along with his bonus families at Conway National Bank, that he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Gary's life will be held 3:00 PM Monday June 23, 2025 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Robbin King officiating.
The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 until 2:45, prior to the service, at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Moore Cemetery on Lucas Bay Road.
