Franklin Maurice Hurd II, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 11, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Franklin Maurice I and Arline Stewart Hurd.

Franklin was in the US Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. Later, he worked as a probation officer for twenty-five years as a supervisor in New York, NY, along with being very active during his ministry as a preacher. Franklin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and took pride in being a great provider for his family

Mr. Hurd is survived by his wife of 35 years, Edelmira Torres Hurd; sons, Tarique Hurd, Aaron Hurd, Carlos Ortiz, Terry Lee Hurd and Jeremiah Rivera; daughters, Malika Hurd, Alida Hurd, Yasmin Hernandez (Jon), Angela Marie Hurd and Grace Marie Hurd; brother, Brian Hurd (Nina); sister, Maureen Salfarlie; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Services will be held 10am Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery.
