Frank "Wormy"
"55" Harrelson
Aug 4, 1966 — Oct 7, 2024
The greatest husband, daddy, Pepa, brother, son and friend moved to his forever home on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family and his world. He was born August 4, 1966 in Marion County, a son of the late Joe Frank "Jimmy" Harrelson and Ellie Larrimore Harrelson.
He was a lineman/serviceman at Horry Electric Cooperative where he worked for almost 30 years. His co-workers would describe him to have a bird's eye, to sing loud and cut up, and he always talked about his wife, children and grandchildren everywhere he went. They all called him Wormy or 55 which was his truck number.
He was a devoted member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church for over 30 years where he served as a youth director, choir director and Adult Sunday School teacher over the years. He loved to sing and he served the Lord with all his heart. He was always the same no matter where he was or who he was around. His bible never got dusty because he loved to study God's word. He was faithful in his walk with God.
He loved to hunt and fish. One of his favorite past times was sitting in a tree stand even if he didn't see anything as long as he had his Mountain Dew but it had to be a small bottle to go in his "sissy bag". He loved camping and going on vacation with his family. Riding the golfcart and eating ice cream with his grandbabies was his favorite. He also looked forward to planting a garden every year with his family.
His grandchildren would describe him as a funny, sweet, kind and helpful man. He was always willing to do exactly what they wanted him to do no matter how silly it seemed. They said he was lovable, brave nice and fun. HE WAS THE BEST PEPA EVER!
The lives of his children are evidence of the great legacy he leaves behind. All their lives he taught them to work hard and love harder. They've always watched his faithfulness to the Lord in studying and serving. They are who they are because of him.
He was devoted to his loving wife Dana, his "Darlin" as he would call her. He was happy as long as she was happy. She was his biggest supporter, his biggest fan. The way they loved and served together made a difference in so many lives, especially their children. She'll forever be grateful for almost 37 years full of the best memories.
Mr. Harrelson is survived by his loving devoted wife, Dana Jordan Harrelson; one son; Jordan Harrelson (Alex); two daughters, Nikki Harrelson McClellan (Phillip) and Hanna Jo Harrelson "Hanna Boo Boo"; one brother, Tony Harrelson; one sister, Frances Harrelson Carroll (Sammy); five grandchildren, Emery McClellan, Arlee Harrelson, Brynn McClellan, Hayden Harrelson and Owen Harrelson and many other family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Preacher Tommy Haselden, Preacher Paul Hyman and Preacher Tommy Bryson officiating.
Burial will be private for the immediate family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to a very special aunt, Karen Horn of Corpus Christi, Texas. Her devotion to Frank and Dana over the past two weeks of his illness was very much appreciated by his wife and their family.
