Eugene Royce Shelley, 93, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Conway Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1932 in Horry County, a son of the late Franklin Grady Shelley and Ruby Jane Johnson Shelley.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Annie Ruth Jordan Shelley; siblings, Elbert Shelley, James Shelley, Marie Jordan, Louise Page, Winnie Roberts and Mary Estelle Martin.

Eugene was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a friend. He loved fishing and his family very much, especially the love of his life, Annie Ruth Shelley. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church where he enjoyed going and serving his Lord and Savior. If the church van was going, he was on it. He was retired from Horry Electric.

Mr. Shelley is survived by his sons, Ronald Shelley (Rose) and Vernon Jordan (Cynthia); sisters, Hazel King and Esther Dyson (Jimmy); five grandchildren, Tracy Bartlette (Steve), Amber Anderson, Chad Jordan (Katie), Jarred Shelley (Sherice) and Tonya Jordan (Michael); eleven great grandchildren, Timothy Anderson (Alison), Jamie Anderson (Jessie), Kris Boan (Robert), Tristan Anderson, Josh Melton, Laci Alford, Paden Jordan, Kamden Jordan, Kinsley Jordan, Lauren Shelley and Greta Shelley; eight great- great grandchildren; a special niece who helped take care of them, Judy Squires and many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at High Point Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating.

The family will receive friends in the church after the service.
