Elijah Sanders Jr., aged 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Compass Acute. Born in Cape Charles, VA, on May 1, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Elijah Sanders Sr. and Lillie Pine Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin sister, Mary Elizabeth Sanders.

Elijah was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and cutting grass. Elijah worked as a truck driver for many years, providing for his family, whom he cherished spending time with. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Carrie Green Sanders; his children, Donnie Elijah Smallwood, Ron Lee Sanders, Wayne Sanders, Jamel Sanders, Antwoine Green, Renee Fantroy, Mary White, and Zakiya Green; his siblings, Roosevelt Sanders and Christine Sanders; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Watson Funeral Services Chapel. Watson Funeral Services and Crematory, located at 2300 Hwy 378, Conway, SC, is serving the family.
