Edna Bruce Davenport, 89, passed away, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Conway Medical, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4, 1933 in Hemp GA, a daughter of the late Perry Ervin Bruce and Anna Mae Wilson Bruce.

She was predeceased by her husband James Adam Davenport, and her parents.

Edna was a loving devoted mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met. She taught Sunday School at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton, SC. Edna and her husband moved to Conway in 2005 to be near her family. She was a faithful member of Langston Baptist Church, where she loved to attend the Community Bible Study and her Sunday School Class. She graduated from high school at the age of 15 and attended Young Harris Jr. College and the University of North Georgia. She received her master degree from the University of Georgia.

Edna taught at Talatha-Hawthrone Elementary School in New Ellenton, SC and Milbrook Elementary School in Aiken. She taught at South Aiken Baptist School before retiring.

Mrs. Davenport is survived by her  two children, Bruce Davenport of Conway and Deidra "DeeDee" Zankowitz and her husband, Tom of Conway; one grandchild, Steven Zankowitz and many other family and friends who will miss her.

The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Services on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm.

Funeral Services will be held 2:30pm Friday, February 17, 2023 at Langston Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Blair officiating.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday February 19, 2023 at Hemp Town Cemetery in Morganton, GA with Cochran Funeral Home, Blue Ridge Ga assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Langston Baptist Church Sanctuary Building Fund, PO Box 256 Glass Hill Drive, Conway, SC  29526.
