Obituary

Doris B. Brown, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 30, 1930 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Rollin and Ellen Singleton Baxley.

She was also predeceased by her husband, Edison Brown; daughter, Rosa Brown Hardee; siblings, Lucille Brown, Carrie Belle Roberts, Eugene Baxley and Vardell Baxley.

Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very hard worker who loved her family very much.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Cecil Brown (Monica), Janice “Jan” Brown (Craig) and Betty Shelley (Jackie); son-in-law, Charles Hardee; siblings, Doug Baxley (Jean) and Margie Martin (Aaron); grandchildren, Tommy Brown (Annette), Amy Brown Hughes (Russell), Krystal Singleton, Ryan Brown (Alisha), Ashley Hardee (Jesalyn), Jonathan Alford, Melissa Bergeron, Dr. Rusty Brown (Brooke) and Trevor Hardee; seventeen great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss her.

The family would like to thank Solena “Val” and Victoria with Amydesis Hospice for the love and care she provided to our mother.

Funeral Services will be held 3pm, Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Dr. Rusty Brown, Rev. Donnie Graham and Rev. Jimmy Floyd officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
