Obituary

Demetrius Clifford James Sr., 91, of Camden, departed this life after a long and meaningful journey. He was born on February 17, 1934, on Bullitt Street in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Eva Stollings James and John E. James.
Clifford proudly served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his strength, discipline, and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved siblings: Dean, Anna, Sultana (Sue), Catherine, Nicholas, and George James.
Clifford shared his life with the late Frances James Craddock, and together they raised three children: Lana James Faulk (CJ), Dinita Shawn Whipple (Tommy), and Demetrius Clifford James Jr. (Misty). Though life's adventures took them to many places beyond West Virginia, the heart of their family was built there, where they spent most of their years raising their children.
He leaves behind a remarkable legacy through his family, including three children, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him deeply and cherished every moment spent in his presence.
In his lifetime , Clifford was a carpenter, businessman, entrepreneur, and truly a man of many talents. He loved to sing and dance, and the world loved to watch him do both. Known as a man of few words—unless he chose to speak—his presence spoke volumes, leaving lasting impressions on all who knew him.
Clifford's life was rich with purpose, love, and quiet wisdom. His legacy will continue to live on through the generations he inspired.
