Debbie H. Dawsey, 71, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River. She was born September 23, 1952 in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late James Arthur Hucks Sr. and Hattie Jordan.

She was also predeceased by her daughter Charlotte Ann Dawsey and siblings Evelyn Churchhill, Cranston Hucks, Jennings Hucks, Mack Worth Hucks, Bobby Joe Hucks, Paul Hucks, Martha Payne and Sevelda Atkinson and her puppies, Punkin and Gypsy.

Debbie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone she met. She was full of life and wanted people to feel good about themselves by bringing out their beauty in them on a daily basis.

Debbie was owner of Avant Garde  College of Cosmetology and The Hair Studio.

Ms. Dawsey is survived by her sons Edward Dawsey (Wayne Barrier) and Leslie Clemmons; a brother, Rev. James A. Hucks Jr (Brenda).; sisters, Shirley Miller (James), Rachel Allen (Johnny) and Mary Cranston; daughter-in-law, Barbara Clemmons; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; Carlisle Dawsey, Eddie's father, who was still the love of her life and many other family and friends who will miss her.

A special thanks to Officer Tyres Nesmith and Dr. Jeanne A. Halyard for all the love and care they gave to Debbie.

Funeral Services will be 5:30pm Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel,with Pastor Tim Suggs officiating.

The family will receive family and friends Wednesday May 15, 2024 from 3:30pm until 5:15pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
