Dallas J. Wyant, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home with his family in Conway, SC, on December 13, 2024. Born in Washington, CT, on January 22, 1938, to Alfred and Lillian (Nichols) Wyant, he was one of twelve children.

Preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, Dallas is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Virginia; his loving children, Jerry (Margaret), Jeff (Stacey), and Joyce (Mark); his cherished seven grandchildren Matthew (Alisa), Christopher (Maggie), Sarah (Patrick), Camille (Skye), Collin, Dallas (Cindy), Cassie; and his two adored great-grandchildren Amelia and Dawson.

A proud Marine, Dallas served his country honorably. After returning home to Connecticut, he worked various jobs before becoming a certified welder. He spent 34 years at a public utility company and ran a successful welding business on the weekends for several years. In 2009, he retired to South Carolina.

Dallas was a man of many passions. He raised a variety of animals, including pheasants, quail, turkeys, and dogs. When he was younger was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for animals extended to dogs, birds, and even fish. For a short time, he owned a pet store and showed Old English Sheepdogs.

In South Carolina, Dallas continued his love for nature, raising quail, guinea hens, and chickens. He formed a unique bond with a local deer named Darla, who often followed him around like a pet.

Dallas will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private scattering of his ashes will be held at a later date with family.
