Clayton Reaves Alford, 55, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born August 23, 1970 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Frankie Reaves Alford and Amanda Kay Collom Alford.

Clayton was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone. He enjoyed his work as a specialty painter and loved seeing the finished product. Clayton loved going to the beach, surfing, antique cars, collecting antiques, taking walks and spending time with his family.

Clayton expressed his boundless love and compassion through his selfless choice to save and enhance the lives of others through his organ and tissue donation.

Mr. Alford is survived by his wife, Caroline Royals Holden-Alford; daughter, Amanda Gray Alford; step-children, Ashley Holden, Amber Baker (Bradley), Garrett Holden (Kelby); a sister, Amanda Roof (Justin); mother and father-in-law, Kendall and Frankie Royals; seven grandchildren; special aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his fur baby Gracie Mae; along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Langston Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Blair officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.
