Clarence Wilburn Smart, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at GSRMC with his loving family by his side. He was born November 16, 1942 in Horry County, a son of the late Thomas Archie and Mina Evelyn Williams Smart.

He was also predeceased by his son, Michael Smart and siblings, Samuel Archie Smart, Hazel Davis, Polly Harrelson and Julia Ann Bacon.

Clarence was a US Air Force veteran, serving twenty-one years. He taught Electrical Engineering for twenty plus years and took great pride in caring for Pauley Swamp Cemetery. Clarence loved God, his family, farming the farm he grew up on and planting flowers and trees.

Mr. Smart is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Linda Ludlam Smart; children, Tommy Smart and Melody Smart; siblings, Emmie Cooper and Jane L. Rood; daughter-in-law, Jera Smart Norwood (Chris); grandchildren, Hannah Reavis (Blake) and Judson Stanley; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Blakely, Briggs, Jay, Ben and Laven, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Services will be held 3pm Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Little Lamb Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Danny Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at Pauley Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1pm until 2:45pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pauley Swamp Cemetery Trust Fund, 2875 Pee Dee Hwy, Conway, SC 29527.
