Charles Frederick Scharf, 86, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Oak View. He was born September 29, 1939 in New Haven, CT, a son of the late Herman A. and Mary Connelly Scharf.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Pothier and her husband Everett.

Charles enjoyed watching NASCAR, doing puzzles, cooking and spending time with family. He retired as a volunteer fire fighter in East Haven, CT.

Mr. Scharf is survived by his wife, Ruth Granger Scharf; daughter, Elizabeth Pezzolesi (Thomas); brother, George H. Scharf (Joan); grandchild, Todd Pezzolesi, Jr. and many other family and friends who will miss him.
