Charles "Chuck" Jones, 80, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was born November 21, 1943 in Sparta, KY, a son of the late Goble Jones and Bessie Beach Jones.

In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his wife, Betty Hucks Jones; siblings, Jesse Eugene Jones, Roy Lee Jones, Lou Florence Perkins and Alberta Riddell.

Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a proud Marine veteran, serving four tours of duty during the Vietnam War and receiving the Purple Heart, along with the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Marine Medal, Merit Service Metal and many other medals and ribbons he was proud of. He enjoyed reading, studying his bible, singing karaoke and watching John Wayne movies. Charles had the privilege to eat dinner with John Wayne.

He is survived by one daughter, Tonya Johnson Baker (Billy); one brother, Chester Jones (Elaine); one grandson, Blaise Baker (Jodi); one great granddaughter, Amillia Bland and many other family and friends who will miss him.

A Graveside Service will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wayne Baker officiating.
