Cathy Christine Hodge Cooke, aged 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her residence in Conway, SC, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 19, 1960, in Columbus, OH, Cathy was the cherished daughter of the late Calvin C. and Joan Irene Thivener Cooke. She was also predeceased by her sister, Jane I. Cooke, and her grandson, Jonah Burton.

Cathy moved to Conway at a young age and dedicated her life to raising her children there. She was a devoted member of White Savannah Church, where she found joy in serving her Lord and Savior. A testament to her resilience, Cathy was a seventeen-year cancer survivor, known for her strong faith and fighting spirit. She was generous to those less fortunate and found immense joy in her family, spending as much time with them as possible. Cathy had a passion for singing and loved watching cooking shows on TV. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

Cathy is survived by her children, Shane R. Burton (Rachel), Michelle L. Turner, and Joni C. Johnson (Wesley); her grandchildren, Kayla Wiggins (Justin), Tre Carroll (Brooke), Kaleb Burton (Cheyanne), Logan Johnson, Eli Burton, and Noah Burton; six great-grandchildren; her niece, Angel Sams (Chris); her nephew, Micheal Cooke (Stephanie); and many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at White Savannah Church, with Rev. Stephen Hyman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Watson Funeral Services and Crematory, located at 2300 Hwy 378, Conway, SC.
