Carolyn M. Finkbone, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the heart of her family, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on October 20, 1936, Carolyn lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She was the strong, feisty matriarch everyone could depend on—the one who showed up, spoke her mind, and faced life’s challenges with grit and determination. Her fierce love, quick wit, and steadfast spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.
Her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by the people she loved most.
She was predeceased by her husband and father of of their children, Francis Phillips and her husband William “Bill” Finkbone; baby daughter, Wanda Elaine Phillips; siblings, Daniel Moran and Brenda Terry.
Carolyn is lovingly survived by her daughters, Jerry Watson (Mitch) and Julie Phillips; brother, Mike Freeman (Debbie); her grandchildren, Allen Matthews (Karla), Eric Hewitt (Michelle), Dusty Thorne (Devon), Erin Jewett (Brent), Christopher Watson and Kali Treadaway (Zach); and her eight cherished great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Carolyn’s legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love. She taught her family what it meant to be strong, to persevere, and to always be there for one another. Her family will forever be grateful for the example she set and the love she gave so freely.
Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the stories shared around the table, the laughter of her family, and the enduring strength she instilled in those she loved. Her memory will be treasured always, and her love will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 11,2026 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
